Recommended Replacement Brakes, Wiring, and Hardware for a Dexter 5.2K Axle

Question:

Im looking for brake assemblies for a 5200 lb Dexter axle. I would like to add cable operated parking brakes also. Could you lead me in the right direction please. Also, is there a kit for the required cables, hardware and lever available? Thank you so much Marty

Hey Marty, for your 5,200 lb Dexter Axle you can use the etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-7-SA. These brakes will work with 5.2 to 7,000 lb axles, measures 12" x 2", and will work with 14 1/2", 15", 16", and 16 1/2" wheels.

Also, the hardware you need is # BRKH12, and the wiring you need is the 10 Gauge Primary Wire # 10-1-1.

Thank you Bryce, you may have missed the part about needing cable operated parking brakes. Thank you

@MartyC Hey Marty, I apologize I totally missed that part. You're going to then need to use the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Assembly with Parking Brake # 23-112 for left hand and # 23-113 for the right hand. These are the same 12" x 2" brakes as the ones above with the same 5 bolt mounting flange bolt pattern, but are designed with parking brakes.
