What Size Inline Fuse Should Be Used For Recharging A Breakaway Battery
Question:
I want to build a charge port to keep my breakaway battery charged.if I understand things correctly 12 volts at black/red wire and white wire should do the job. I don’t intent to use it to do anything else. What limit should I put on the input?

Hi Mark,
Typically we just run a wire from the 12v accessory pin on the 7-way junction box over to the breakaway battery to recharge the battery as you tow the trailer. This is a low amperage pin so a 10 or 15 amp fuse and in-line holder # SWC9538 would sufficient.
