The Sliding Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # 16516 along with the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # C16418-204 will allow you to pull your 2003 Keystone Cougar 286 behind your 2002 Silverado 2500HD crew cab short bed. I would also install the 7-Way # 41157 in your bed so you do not have to risk damaging the wiring over the tailgate and running down to the bumper connection.
