Comparing etrailer and Curt Hitch for 2024 Hyundai Palisade SEL
Question:
Hi. I am looking for a hitch for our 2024 Hyundai Palisade SEL. I found a few on your web site: etrailer Class 3 Round Tube Trailer Hitch - 2024 Hyundai Palisade CURT Class 3 Round Tube Trailer Hitch - 2024 Hyundai Palisade Whats the difference between these 2 other than the brands? These both hang down a little bit lower. Is there not any that are higher? Does the OEM version hang as low as these also?

Hi Andrew; the etrailer # e95ZR and Curt # C13427 are identical. The only difference is the powder coat finish. The Curt has your standard glossy finish and the etrailer hitch has the matte black. The matte black helps hide dirt and also typically blends better with OEM trim on vehicles.
The cross tube on both of these is concealed so only the receiver is hanging down. There might be 1/2" of space between the receiver and bumper at the lowest part depending on the trim package. It curves up and away at a steep angle so I think it looks like it hangs down lower because of that. You really couldn't get much higher without cutting into the bumper. The # 391HYUNPALIS19 is the only one that sits higher since the receiver is completely removable but the cost is significantly more.
It looks like ordering the vehicle with the OEM hitch means you get a different bumper with a panel the receiver and wiring harness connector sit in. I'm not sure if this can be added after the fact with the SEL bumper or not. You may have the ability to remove a section to add it in. There isn't a lot of info I could find on the OEM hitch since Hyundai has had a bunch of issues releasing the hitch and wiring for this vehicle.
