Hi David,
The Blind Spot Monitoring System # CU95XR won't work with your 2001 GMC Sierra 2500 as the truck doesn't have the right connections for the system. What you can do though is use a camera system for your trailer that has marker light cameras that can be used as observation cameras, the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ 3 Cameras # FCE48TASL-05.
The side marker light cameras can be wired to running lights to be used as observation cameras so you can see what is happening on the sides of your trailer. While not exactly the same thing as the blind spot system, it is a good way to stay aware of your surroundings as you tow.
