Replacement Hub For An AL-KO T44 3,500lb Axle With AL-KO 9012 Hubs

Question:

Hi I have an ALKO T44 3500lbs axel on a 12 year old RV trailer. I need to replace the drums which are AL-KO 9012s. I understand they dont make them anymore. What is the compatible substitute? Also upon removing them, I noticed the front and rear bearings are the same size. What is the proper bearing back for these drums as well? Thanks, Ken

Hi Ken,

There doesn't seem to be a reliable listing of the bearing and grease seal part numbers so you'll need to measure your spindle with a digital caliper # PTW80157 at points B, C, and D from the diagram below. Once we have the inner diameter for the bearings and seal and we know the wheel bolt pattern I can pick out a new hub.

@KenD Did you measure with a tape measure or caliper # PTW80157? These dimensions need to be to the fourth decimal point and have to be precise, otherwise you'll create a space between the bearing and spindle which will lead to heat build up and the bearings will explode. For example: The # L44649 is a very common bearing for this weight capacity and has an ID of 1.063".

@KevinC Hi I used a manual caliper hood to the 32nd. Let me send you a pic of the bearing that was on there.
