How To Properly Measure Your Trailer's Shackle Straps
Question:
What is the proper way to measure shackle links, end to end of center of the zerk to center of the zerk?

Hey Wayne,
The correct way to measure shackle straps would be from center to center of the eyelets. If your shackle straps are worn out and the holes are oblong then you'll want to remove the bolts and you'll have to guess a bit where the center is. If they aren't worn then then you can leave the bolts in and measure from center of the bolt head over to the center of the other bolt head. If the grease zerk fitting is in the center you can measure from there as well.
