How Does Brake Controller Wire to 2006 Toyota Highlander
Question:
2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Connecting Prodigy 2 given to me by a friend. Having trouble connecting brake light connection to brake controller - can I jump off brake light wire from 4 pin connection to run actuate the brake light connection on Prodigy rather than connecting to unknown harness under the dash?. The hybrid under dash doesnt look like the standard Highlander. Any suggestions that dont include buying $500 worth of components appreciated. I have power run to 7pin and controller and 14 gauge wire from 7pin to the Prodigy. One connection to brake light needed to complete. Thanks for your time.

Hey Christian, so we can definitely help you get your P2 part # 90885 installed in your 2006 Toyota Highlander. Basically you are goin to need to make 4 connections to the vehicle wiring. The red wire needs to run to a stoplight circuit that only sees voltage when the brake are applied. Normally this is at the brake pedal switch and you'd need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to find it, the blue wire needs to run back to the 7-way, the black to the positive battery terminal, and the white to the negative terminal.
Keep mind all of these wires (except red) need to be made with 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1. I don't believe there is a harness under your dash for a brake controller to wire to.
