Will The E-100 Hitch And Y02476 Bike Rack Work With The Spare Tire On A 2016 Casita Spirit?

My recommendation for your trailer is to use the Curt RV Bumper 2inch Trailer Hitch Receiver E-100 and then the Yakima LongHaul Y02476 I am looking to add the above to my Casita per your sites recommendation, my question is does the hitch receive and the rack clear the rear tire that is installed on the back of the Casita? My concern is the tire may interfere with the E-100 installation although the 2 bolts on top should be able to go around tire? second does the Yakima extend far enough out to clear the tire that is about 7 inches over the bumper? Thanks hope that is enough info.

Hello Phil. Looking at pictures of these 2016 Casita Spirit Travel Trailers online, the spare tire appears to be very close to the top of the rear bumper. In order to use the # E-100 bumper hitch I would want at least 1"-2" between the tire and the bumper. Please do measure to verify that you will have room. As long as there is a bit of pace between the two, the # E-100 will work great.

To answer your second question, yes, the Yakima LongHaul # Y02476 does extend far enough out to clear the tire. The closest part of the rack will sit 9" from the hitch pin hole. The pin hole will basically be centered on the 4" bumper. With the tire extending 7" past the bumper, the rack will fit just right. You will just want to make sure you have enough space between the tire and the bumper so you can install the hitch. If there is not enough clearance, the only way to use this setup would be to store the spare tire somewhere else.
