Will The Air Lift 1000 Heavy Duty Air Helper Springs Survive Sub Zero Temps on 2012 Ram 1500?

Question:

Ive seen a couple reviews saying that the 1000 hd doesnt like cold weather. Where I live we usually get about a month of subzero temperatures, will they survive the cold? ??

So I believe the main issue people have had is when the Air Lift 1000 Heavy Duty Air Helper Springs # AL60818HD are cold is just like with your vehicle tires. As the temperature gets colder your tires pressure drops and if the air springs have less than the minimum 5psi which is likely happening the bags are at a greater risk of damage. The good news is the air springs themselves do have a lifetime warranty so as long as you are maintaining proper air pressure if something should happen to one of the springs, Air Lift will get you a replacement. A compressor system like the WirelessAir # AL74000 has a smart manifold which will monitor air pressure in the springs and make changes should they change by more than 3psi. This can help you to ensure you never drop below the 5psi when driving your 2012 Ram 1500.

Another alternative you may consider is stepping up to their Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs # AL88365. These will work with the same compressor system above but do note these are rubber construction with an internal urethane jounce bumper that can help to prevent the air spring from pinching on itself.
