Is Trimming Required to Install a Trailer Hitch On a 2023 Subaru Outback Wilderness

Question:

2023 suburu outback wilderness Im looking for a kayak holder and trailer tow hitch. Can you make some good recommendations. Some questions: 1. The OEM trailer hitch has you cutting the bumper. Not sure I want to do this? 2. The wilderness does not come with side bars on the roof rack. Does this come with the Rhino Rack kayak holder?

Hey Paul, it looks like in order to install a hitch on your 2023 Subaru Outback you're going to need to do some fascia trimming so that part is going to be non-optionable.

As far as your vehicle not having raised rails you'd need to add a set because the Rhino-Rack Rhino-Rack Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs # S512 does not come with any bars.

Right now I'm not seeing anything for the Subaru Outback without bars, so you'd probably need to get them added via the dealer. Once you have the raised rails added, then you can use the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711300 with the Evo Raised Rail Feet for Thule Crossbars # TH710401 and you'd be all set.
