Can I Use The BWRVB3405 Slider Base In A 2024 Ford F-350 With The OEM Prep Package

Question:

I just bought a NEW 2024 F350 Lariat short bed. I had a BandW Companion MD RVB3405, SN CSB32947 Slider with a Spare Goose neck couplie Still Hitch. My new Ford is has the 5th wheel Hitch Prep Kit. Short of buying a New 5th wheel hitch. How can I make this hitch work with my Ford that has the Round Goose neck recover? HELP

Hello Ron. I do have some good news and bad news for you. The bad news is that there is unfortunately no way to use your B&W Companion Slider base # BWRVB3405 in a Ford truck with the OEM prep kit. This base will only work with the B&W Turnoverball which has a square hole for the gooseneck ball.

The good news is that you do not necessarily need to buy a whole new hitch. The head unit for the B&W companion hitch, part # BWRVC3006 is universal. So, you can simply buy a new base for your new truck, and you can use the head unit from your old hitch. Since your new truck is a short bed, I do recommend that you get a slider base. For that you will need the following:

- Replacement Slider Base for B&W OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Ford Towing Prep Package - 20K # BWRVB3370
