Parts Needed To Add 7-Way Connector To 2014 Toyota Highlander With tow Package And 4-Way
Question:
I have purchased a 2014 Toyota Highlander with towing package. The electrical plug is the small 4 prong plug. I need a round 7? Outlet plug for my camping trailer. Do you have something to convert it? I need an answer ASAP. Thanks

If your camping trailer has brakes you will need to install a 7-way for the connection, and also a brake controller on your 2014 Toyota Highlander.
If your camper has no brakes but just has a 7-way connector, then all you will need is part # 37185.
If you need a brake controller I recommend part # 90885. This is a proportional controller that activates the brakes on the trailer in proportion to the brake pedal in the towing vehicle. If you are installing the brake controller, then you will need part # ETBC7. This will attach to your 4-way and along with some hardwiring, will give you the 7-way connector at the rear of your vehicle.
I have attached some videos that show the installation of the parts I mentioned above.
I also recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755 when making any electrical connections. This keeps moisture and dirt out of the connectors and prevents corrosion. Also, if extra 10 gauge wire is needed to complete the wiring of your Highlander, I recommend part # 10-2-1. This is a jacketed 2-way wire that can be ordered by the foot.
