Wiring Diagram for the Hopkins 4-Pole to 7-Way Adapter

Hi there, I have a 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser, Id like convert my 4 pin trailer connector to a 7-Way trailer Connector, and then add a wireless break controller. Here are the 2 products I am planning to get. https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Wiring/Hopkins/37185.html https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Brake-Controller/CURT/C51180.html But wanted to confirm how I should wire them up. I found this article, and wanted to check if the same instruction applied to my FJ as well? Thank you!

Hey Clara, you've got all the pieces of the puzzle picked out so you'll be good to go on that front, but as far as wiring goes you're going to want to follow the diagram of # 37185 that I've attached.

We unfortunately do not have a video shot on this particular vehicle, but the wiring diagram is fairly straight forward, and there are directions that come with it as well.

From here, you'd just have to plug in the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180, get the app, and you'll be good to go.
