Availability of 1-1/4 to 2 Inch Hitch Adapter w/ Straight or Rise Shank for Best Ground Clearance
Question:
We recently purchased two MaxxTow Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter - 1-1/4inch to 2inch Hitch - 4-1/2inch Rise - MT70355. They ride low to the ground and we are looking into if there is a better option, such as a straight adapter or one that goes up instead of down toward the road. Do you have or know if there is a better solution?

We have both a straight adapter, as well as one that has a 5-1/2 inch rise to gain you additional ground clearance. The straight adapter is part # HTAD and the adapter with the rise is part # HT5R.
Keep in mind that the best practice is to use a hitch mounted accessory that is compatible with your hitch without using an adapter. Using an adapter will lower the tongue weight capacity of your hitch (maximum amount of weight that can be suspended from it) by half. If your hitch has a 200 lb tongue weight, using the adapter would lower that figure to 100 lbs.
