Lift Kit Options For A 2004 Keystone Cougar 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

Good morning. Im am looking at purchasing a 2004 Keystone cougar 24ft 5th wheel trailer. The axles are too low for my 2015 f350. Do you offer different leak springs, hardware and blocks? Thank you, Cody

Hey Cody,

We do offer replacement suspension components but to increase your trailer's height you'll want to go with an over-under conversion kit like Dexter's # K71-384-00 (2-3/8" diameter axles) or # K71-385-00 (3" diameter axles). You'll need to first measure the diameter of your axle tubes and check if you're suspension underslung or overslung. You'll need an underslung suspension in order to use these kits.

These are designed to "flip" the leaf springs to the top of the axle (overslung) to increase the height of the trailer by the diameter of the axle tube and the height of the leaf spring stack.

If this isn't an option for your trailer then the alternative would be the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit # RR23QX, which can give you a 1-1/4" or 2-1/4" lift depending on how you install it. These are overly complicated and expensive so I don't really recommend then unless it's absolutely your only option.

Raising the height of the trailer can throw of the center of gravity and make your trailer less stable so I always recommend installing a support like the MORryde X-Factor Crossmember # MR33WR to help strengthen the frame of your trailer and prevent sway.
