Hi Stephen,
To add in a 7-way and brake controller to your 2022 Jeep Wrangler you'll need the following components:
First you'll need to install the 7-way # ETBC7. This will have a 4-pole connector to plug into your 4-pole connector for the light functions and then will need to be wired in the following manner:
Black - 12v power with included inline 40 amp circuit breaker.
White - ground to the frame.
Yellow - cap off with electrical tape unless you want to splice into the reverse light circuit for a boat trailer
Blue - brake output from brake controller.
You'll use the included 10awg wire to run from the 7-way up to the engine compartment and then split the casing to put the white wire through the firewall to connect to the brake output wire for the brake controller and the black wire will run to the battery with the inline circuit breaker.
From there you'll need a brake controller like the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR along with the Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED69FR. This brake controller has a tiny controller that you can drill into the dash to avoid knocking your knee on it every time you get in or out of the Wrangler. The wires will need to be spliced in the following manner:
Black - 12v power with inline 30 amp circuit breaker from # ETBC7 installation kit.
White - ground to frame
Blue - brake output wire to 7-way
Red - cold side of the brake light switch
Since the brake light switch isn't useable you'll need to install the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751490 in order to get the brake signal.
