Class III Hitch Towing Setup and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2013 Honda CR-V
Question:
Looking for a Class III hitch for 2013 Honda CR-V. Want to tow a motorcycle trailer and separately use bike rack w/ 2inch mount. What do you recommend? Both the Curt and Draw-Tite look to fit the bill.

Expert Reply:
For your 2013 Honda CR-V the Curt Hitch part # C13119 or the Draw Tite hitch part # 75742 would work well for you. For the price difference between the two hitches I would probably go with the Curt.
To complete your towing setup I would also recommend the following parts:
etrailer Ball Mounts # EBMK4, this comes with a ball mount and a hitch ball that can be changed for both a 1-7/8 inch and 2 inch ball.
Curt Trailer Wiring part # C56158 to activate your trailer taillight functions.
Transmission Cooler part # D13502, Honda typically recommends the addition of a supplemental transmission cooler when towing. Install video attached.
The most popular bike rack with other 2013 Honda CR-V owners is the Swagman XTC-2 Bike Rack part # S64670. We actually had the chance to test this rack on a 2013 CR-V and found that it worked very well. We shot a demo video of this test fit and I attached it.
You will want to consult your vehicle owners manual to determine the towing rating for your vehicle and be sure not to exceed this figure.
