Recommended Trailer Hitch and Spare Tire Carrier for a 2015 Toyota Sienna LE
Question:
I have a 2016 Toyota Sienna LE and want to add a spare tire carrier. 1 Specs for the carrier indicate I need 4inch or less from the vehicles hitch pin hole to the furthest protruding point of the bumper. Will this hitch meet the specs? If not, which hitch would be better. 2 Is the receiver tube open all the way through? It looks as if it could be open but please confirm. 3 If the receiver tube is open, will I be able to access the back end of the receiver tube or will it be blocked by the under body panel? 4 Can I attach a wiring harness to the hitch? Thanks!

Hey Susan, the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98853 will work fine as a mounting point for a spare tire carrier like # c31006. The receiver tube on this hitch is open all of the way through and theoretically you could access the back end of it but you wouldn't ever need to.
Finally, for a wiring harness I recommend going with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56261 which just plugs into your OEM wiring, and gives you with a 4-pole connector.
