Switching From Lead Acid To Lithium Batteries - Do I Need To Change My Charging System Too?
Question:
I would like to switch from my current lead acid RV batteries 2 to Lithium batteries. Can this be done or do I need to change the charging system in the 5th wheel?

Expert Reply:
That will completely depend on what kind of charging system is currently in your fifth wheel. Some converter chargers are not lithium compatible. Some models will have a switch to change from a lead acid to a lithium charging profile. You should be able to find a sticker on the converter or charger that tells us the make and model number. We can use that to determine if it is lithium compatible or not.
Depending on what you have, you may just have to flip a switch, it may be possible to swap just the converter section, or you may have to replace the entire power station with one like the # PD4135K.
If you can provide the model number, or even send pictures of the sticker on the current converter charger I am happy to see what we can do for you.
