Trailer Hitch and Platform Bike Rack for a 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible Gas Turbo

I need a trailer hitch and bike rack for my 2013 vw beetle convertible gas turbo. I see that the Curt trailer hitch 11354 is recommended- will a platform style bike rack fit and if so, which one. thank you

For your 2013 Volkswagen Beetle convertible gas turbo model you can use Curt trailer hitch # C11354 that you have mentioned.

This is a Class I trailer hitch so you will need a bike rack that is Class I compatible and you are limited to 2 bikes. There are platform racks available that will work with this hitch on your Beetle. I have included a link to all of the platform style racks that fit Class I trailer hitches for you.

Out of these options I like the Saris Freedom # SA4412B. This is a simple platform rack that is light weight and holds 2 bikes. And it is Class I compatible. I have linked a video review of this rack for you.

With the Curt trailer hitch, Curt recommends using stabilization strap # 18050, when using the hitch for any non-trailer load such as a bike rack. The strap is designed to reduce some of the stress on the hitch.
