Question:

Just wondering if you can turn a hitch upward to have a raised hitch when needed?

You absolutely can flip a ball mount upward to keep taller trailers level when it's needed. It's important to make sure the ball mount you purchase has a "rise" rating as there are a few exceptions to this rule, but for the vast majority of ball mounts on the market you can safely use them in either the rise or drop configuration.

If you don't already have a ball mount I highly recommend checking out the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount # BWTS10037B which not only has multiple height adjustments, but it also comes with 2 hitch balls (2" and 2-5/16") so you can increase the variety of trailers you can tow with your vehicle.

I'm attaching our review video for the B&W ball mount so you can see it in action, as well as a link to our ball mount article that goes into further details about choosing the correct ball mount for towing a trailer.
