Can Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack Be Used for 45 lb Bike on a 2023 Kia Soul

Can I use SA803 to carry 3 bikes on my 2023 Kia Soul? One of my bikes is a little heavier at 45 pounds but the other ones are a bit lighter so would that offset the heavier one?

The cradles on the Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack # SA803 are the limiting factor when it comes to weight so even if your other bikes are lower than the individual weight capacity, the 45 lb bike will still overload that one cradle set and we want to avoid that.

For your application I recommend installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT25GR because of the 2" hitch receiver, and using a 3-bike hitch rack like the RockyMounts MonoRail # RKY10004-10005 to carry your bikes. All hanging racks have a max per bike weight rating that falls under your 45 lb need so a platform style like this is the way to go, and by using a 3-bike instead of a 4-bike you're able to cut down on the weight of the actual rack itself.
