What Color Should the LED Indicator of the Voyager Brake Controller be When Driving
Question:
After linking my car to our horse float, should the green indicator light come on straight away? The light seems to activate after about 500m or so of driving. When activated, I set the level adjustment to be just into the orange, however after some driving the tralier seems to be breaking itself and no matter how I set the level adjustment, I cannot get it back to green? Also, what colours should the brake controller be displaying under normal driving and braking?

You want at least a slight shade of orange on the indicator of your Voyager Brake Controller part # 39510 when you are connected and the brake pedal is depressed. The darker the orange or red the more aggressive the braking will be. With your foot off the brake it should be green when there is a trailer connected.
If the green light is not activating till you drive for a little bit that means you either have corrosion on your trailer connector or you have a loose wire that is making intermittent contact.
It sounds like you might also need to make sure that your controller is installed completely horizontal and parallel with the direction of traffic. Check out the picture I attached.
I attached an FAQ on brake controller installs, and install video for this controller plus installation instructions for you to check out.
