Recommended Locking Hitch Pin for a Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack
Question:
I am planning to buy a Kuat Transfer 2 bike rack with a two inch attachment for a trailer hitch and thought this hitch receiver would be a good choice for my 2019 Honda CRV AWD. What size bolt can I use to attach the Kuat bike rack to the trailer hitch itself? I’m thinking of buying a third part trailer hitch bolt that has a lock on the end so that no one could steal the Kuat off the trailer hitch mount and want to be sure the hitch can accommodate the locking hitch bolt. What is the maximum size bolt the hitch can accommodate?

The diameter of the hitch pin hole for the etrailer item # e98848 is 5/8". This hitch is confirmed to fit a 2019 Honda CR-V.
Please note that Kuat's bike racks like the Transfer V2 item # KU84FR have a smaller hitch pin hole diameter of 1/2" so the 5/8" pin will not work.
I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock item # C23517. It features an easy-to-operate quarter-turn lock activation and a watertight dust cap that will prevent internal corrosion. There are two keys included with this hitch lock.
