Recommended Supplemental Braking System for a 2010 Jeep Wrangler
Question:
Which supplemental brake system will work for flat towing a 2010 Wrangler with a 6 speed manual transmission? As you know, all I currently need to do with the transmission and transfer case is put them both in neutral and nothing else with no key in the ignition required. I currently have the Blue Ox BX8869 wiring kit and the Pollak 6-way Metal Socket SKU: 11-609 installed to power the Jeep’s tail/brake lights. Thank you

One of the most reliable and easiest supplemental braking systems to install is the Blue Ox Patriot Radio Frequency, Portable Braking System item # BLU37TR. This is a proportional braking system which means it stops or slows your Jeep down with the same force as you are braking in your RV. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles and towing components.
The Blue Ox Patriot item # BLU37TR is also a portable system which means you can use it on your next flat tow vehicle. It saves you the hassle of having to install a permanent system and gives you flexibility on swapping out vehicles.
I have linked a review video below so you can see the functions of the Blue Ox Patriot demonstrated and how to get it set up.
You will need to install the 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps item # RM-9332 since your ignition will be off.
