Will Furrion Power Adapter Fix Vision S Monitor Losing Camera on 2017 Heartland Big Country

Question:

I have a 2020 GMC and tow a 2016/2017 Heartland Big Country 5er. I use a Furrion Series S back up camera. The camera plugs into the rear clearance lights for power. The camera system worked fine the first year I used it. Then the signal began to have issues. It will freeze on the Vision S 5inch monitor, or it will go out all together. I thought I might need a signal booster, but this is the only product Ive come across. Is this product intended to correct that issue? I see in the other reviews and QnA everyone reviews to an issue, but dont really say what the issue is. Thank you.

It actually could be a combination of both.

The Furrion Vision S systems, like the kit # FOS05TASF it sounds like you have, are nice and convenient because of them being wireless, but that can cause some signal issues on longer RVs. That coupled with you having a newer GM truck is the perfect recipe for your camera to act weird.

Since the camera was getting power just fine for a year I recommend first checking to see if it is losing power when hooked up to your truck. If that's the issue then the 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter # FR87PR will boost the 12V power enough to properly power your camera. Otherwise the only other thing you can try doing is relocating your monitor to get a better signal since there unfortunately isn't a booster for this camera system.
