LED Indicator on Hopkins Trailer Brake Controller Does Not Light Up
Question:
I just finished installing the Hopkins Brake controller on my 1996 Chevy truck. The brakes work fine but the light in the red button isnt illuminated as it is in my Motorhome when the ignition is on. Do I have a problem?

It may just be that the LED indicator on the brake controller is out. You will want to ensure proper controller function though by using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993. You will want to sever the blue wire a few inches back from the controller and use the circuit tester to test the end coming from the controller.
The controller should show power when the manual override button is applied. If it does not then there is something wrong inside the controller and it will need to be replaced.
