Troubleshooting Brake Buddy Stealth Controller that Backfeeds Voltage on Brake Lights When Stopped
Question:
I have a brake buddy stealth and I am having problems with it turning on the brakes and stop lights when parked. It will just turn on and I need to press the red button to get it to turn off. It is also disconnecting from the tow vehicle on a regular bases and I need to pull the fuse to get it to reconnect. Do you think that a new controller is needed?

Yes, it would be time for a new controller part # HM39533 for your Brake Buddy. Unfortunately the controllers of this kit aren't as reliable as we'd like them to be and what you described does sound like an internal problem with it.
There is a chance there is a short between the black wire and the red wire though so I would check the connections there to see if you can find a short like cut/exposed wire and fix as needed.
