To install your Curt brake controller in a Durango without a factory tow package you'll need to use the Universal Wiring Adapter for Curt Trailer Brake Controllers # C51515. This will plug into the brake controller and have four wires that will get spliced into the factory wiring in the following manner:

Black - 12v power (battery)
White - Ground
Red - Cold side of the brake light switch
Blue - Brake output to 7-way

To find the cold side of your brake light switch you'll need to test the wires coming off of the brake pedal with a tester # PTW2993 to see which wire only has power when the brake pedal is being depressed. For your Durango it should be a white/tan wire, but I recommend using the tester to confirm.
