Although typically used to convert a system from a tow vehicle to a towed vehicle, the use of the Vehicle to Vehicle Taillight Converter, # 118158, would work for you. When a vehicle has a combined system, both the left and right turn signal wires also carry the brake signal. With a separate system, the brake light signal is broken out onto it's own circuit. This converter will allow you to convert your combined taillight system to a separate taillight system on your 2008 Dodge Ram.
The Upgraded Taillight Converter, # HM48925, does the exact opposite and is not what you need. That converter takes a separate system and combines it.
I have included a link to a product demonstration video that might be helpful. It is directed to those that are converting the system for towing but I still feel it gives some valuable information that you may be able to use.
If the new flat bed has LED lights, you may need to install the Light Bulb Load Resistor, # DI34ZR, to prevent hyperflashing. Hyperflashing is when the turn signal flashes a lot faster than normal due to the reduced current load pulled by LED lights. Resistors are used on LED turn signals and brake lights on Dodge trucks.
