Hitch Recommendation for a 2009 Subaru Legacy Sedan to Carry a Scooter Carrier

with this hitch,will the legacy sedan handle an aluminum motorcycle carrier with a e-ton scooter which weighs about 290 #?

The Draw-Tite Hitch part # 75560 that you referenced is the correct hitch for your 2009 Subaru Legacy Sedan. This hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 400 lbs, so that means that if the weight of your 290 lb scooter and carrier together weighs less than 400 lbs this hitch should work well for you. Basically if your carrier weighs less than 110 lbs (which it should) you would be fine.
However, you need to also check the owners manual of your vehicle and determine what Subaru lists as the tongue weight rating of your vehicle and be sure to not exceed the tongue weight rating of both your hitch and vehicle. The lower rating of the two will be the overall capacity since a setup is only as good as the lowest rated component.
