The price. Curt made the item # C97JR hitch to fit more models of the Jeep Grand Cherokee's and it ended up just being an extra hitch that also fits the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L along with item # C96NR which is the one recommended by our fitguide.
I recommend going with the one that costs less and right now that is the Curt Trailer Hitch item # C96NR.
I have linked an installation video below to show you how to get these hitches installed. Please note that neither hitch will allow a 20" spare tire to be mounted beneath the vehicle and there isn't one that does.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C27BR and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
