I see you already purchased the Curt 4 Pole to 7 Pole Adapter, # C57674. This is the appropriate adapter to convert your 4-way trailer connector to a 7-way trailer connector. Since you do not have any turn signals or brake lights, I recommend testing your original 4-way trailer connector with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 for those functions first. I have attached a demonstration video showing how to use a circuit tester to test a 4-way trailer connector for you to check out. I also recommend looking for corrosion build up on the pin because that is a common culprit for this type of issue.

If you do not have turn signals or brake lights at your original 4-way trailer connector, then we know the issue is somewhere on the truck. If the 4-way was factory installed, then you may have blown fuses in the fuse box. If the 4-way is an aftermarket harness, then there may be a problem with the harness or a loose connection. If the problem is with the harness, then I recommend installing a new harness, # C59496.

I recommend performing the same test with the adapter. If you have power for the turn signals and brake lights at your 4-way, but not at the Curt 4 Pole and 7 Pole adapter, then there may be an issue with the adapter. You could replace it with another Curt adapter, but I recommend replacing it with the Universal 4 Pole and 7-Pole Installation Kit, # ETBC7. This kit comes with an adapter similar to the Curt adapter, but it also comes with all of the additional wires and hardware necessary to have a fully functioning 7-way trailer connector. I have attached an installation video of this kit on a 2002 Tundra for you to check out. The installation will be identical to your 2006 Tundra.

If you choose to go with another Curt adapter or determine that the adapter is not the problem, then you will also want to pick up a Brake Controller Wiring Kit # 5506. This wiring kit will provide the additional wires for your 12 volt power wire and your brake controller for the 7-way trailer connector. The circuit breaker that you will need will depend on your brake controller and the number of brake assemblies on your trailer.

If you are looking for a brake controller as well, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, # 90885. This is one of the most popular brake controllers on the market. It will require the 20-amp breaker if your trailer has either 2 or 4 brake assemblies and it will require a 30-amp breaker if your trailer has either 6 or 8 brake assemblies.
