Do I need to remove the rear bumper to install a hitch on my 2024 Subaru Outback Wagon?

Yes, you do. The etrailer Hitch item # e25TR does require you to remove the rear bumper cover on your 2024 Subaru Outback wagon. The reason the bumper has to be removed is what makes this the best hitch for your car. The crosstube mounts behind the bumper leaving only the 2" receiver exposed. This not only looks better it helps with ground clearance.

If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56040 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
