How to Charge 2019 GMC Canyon Battery While Using Blue Ox Patriot Brake System for Flat Towing
Question:
I am going flat tow my 2019 GMC Canyon. I already flat tow a different car and the actual tow bar will work. I am going to purchase the items listed below, but with the battery disconnect I will not have DC power for the Blue-Ox supplemental breaking. I am sure there is a solution and I need some guidance. In my cart: RM-15267, 523182-5, RM-766, 156-25, and BRK2505. Thanks

The parts you chose for your 2019 GMC Canyon are great options for flat towing:
- Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523182-5
- Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267
- Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766
- Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25
- Second Vehicle Breakaway Kit for Blue Ox Patriot # BRK2505
The only additional part you need is the 12 Volt Outlet Kit # RM-9332 which will hook straight up to your battery positive terminal so you can power the Blue Ox Patriot brake system. The brake system will drain the battery but your charge line kit will replenish the battery so that's one less thing you have to worry about.
