Troubleshooting An Error Message With A Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Coachlink Monitor

Question:

I just installed one of your Demco Dou play brakes in my 2020 Jeep Rubicon Wrangler along with the brake light diodes etc, all the stuff. Install was quick and easy no issues everything works as advertised except my tow vehicle is a 2006 F350 and the disconnected brake fault message from the brake controller keeps sending the audible alarm and the fault message on the dash but everything is working, lights, blinkers and brake in towed vehicle. Is this a common problem and whats the fix? I assume the reason its faulting is because there is no 7th brake wire in the cable connecting the truck to the Jeep??

Expert Reply:

The 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon doesn't have a useable brake light switch wire so the coachlink monitor in your Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO # DM86VR is most likely sending this error since it isn't getting the brake signal. You'll need to install the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751490 and connect it to the red wire of the transmitter so that it can properly communicate with the coachlink monitor.
