Upgrading From A Time-Delay To A Proportional Brake Controller

Question:

I am looking to get a new proportional controller like the P3. My old one, I bought in 2006 is a timed only. What are your thoughts on changing to a proportional controller?

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 will be a very nice upgrade from an older time-delay controller. It will be much easier to operate, and it has a display on the front which gives you real time diagnostics. You will also experience much smoother towing and braking. The P3 has an internal inertia sensor, which measures the inertia of your tow vehicle and activates the trailer brakes to slow at the same rate. The result is uniform braking across your towing setup. No push-pull action or time delays, just smooth, proportional braking. The P3 has certainly been my personal "go-to" controller when making recommendations for the past several years. You can be confident you are making a good choice.
