Recommended Flat Towing Set Up and Fuses to Pull on a V6 2010 Chevy Equinox

Question:

I have a 2010 awd V6 automatic Equinox I want to flat tow. I read the GM revised its tow to remove fuse 15 for 2010 and fuse 16 for other years 2011 up. My question is they talk about 4 cylinders does it matter that mine is a V6, does that matter?

Yes, it does matter. Since you have the V6 2010 Chevy Equinox you will need to remove the Discrete Logic Ignition Switch, which is Fuse 32, while flat towing your vehicle. You can install the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass item # RM76511 to make disconnecting the fuse as easy as flipping a switch.

The rest of the parts you will need to flat tow your 2010 Chevy Equinox are listed below:

Tow Bar and Safety Chains - Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar item # RM-520 and item # RM-643

Base Plate Kit - Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms item # RM-523160-5

Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267

Supplemental Braking System - Blue Ox Patriot Radio Frequency item # BLU37TR

High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. I have linked a FAQ article that explains all this in more detail along with our selection of adapters.
