Suspension Upgrades For a 2019 Grand Design Solitude 380FL 5TH Wheel Camper With 7,000LB Axles

Question:

I have a 2019 Grand Design Solitude 380FL 5th wheel. Its a 2 axle 7K suspension. It needs new springs, shackles, and equalizers. Trying to decide whether to rebuild the suspension with a rubber equalizer such as the Alltrek 4000 or replace it with a Roadmaster suspension.

I have a couple options for you to replace the suspension on your 2019 Grand Design Solitude 380FL 5th wheel camper. First the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM-2460-2570 which I see you already found is one option. The benefit of this is you get a more independent suspension on the axles so as one axle goes up over a bump it does not affect the wheel and tire behind it. Best of all everything including shocks comes in one kit.

If you would rather go with the MORryde AllTrek 4000 Equalizers # MR29DR you will need to measure your current leaf springs as the 24-7/8" Long 7,000LB Springs # e64SR are the only ones we carry for your weight capacity. The easiest way to confirm if this is the correct length spring for your trailer without having to jack it up to get the weight off the trailer you can measure the spring along the radius. You should have 13-3/16" from the center of the mounting hole to the center of the leaf spring pin. You will then need to select either the 2-1/4" # MR46ZR or 3-1/8" # MR76ZR MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers depending on the length of your current equalizers from center of pin hole to center of pin hole.

With either kit you will also want to replace your U-Bolts # MR66ZR as they will often suffer from corrosion which prevents being able to reuse your current bolts.
