How to Tell if Hitch Will Fit 2010 Ford F-150 With Factory Hitch
Question:
I have a 2010 Ford F150 Supercab 4wd with a factory hitch. I am very dissatisfied with the factory design because the attachment points for the safety chains are too far forward and I have to use a piece of chain to make up the difference. I notice all of the hitches indicate “without factory hitch.” Is there any reason why I would not be able to replace my factory hitch with one of the better designed aftermarket options?

Most times manufacturers say "without factory hitch" because if you have the factory hitch it will get in the way of installing the aftermarket one. Also, some hitches are welded on and cannot be removed, so you'll want to see if the hitch on your 2010 Ford F-150 is welded on or attached with bolts. If it simply has bolts and is removable you can install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C14002.
Otherwise the only option to add a hitch to go with your factory hitch - so long as you have a short bed and your factory hitch is rated for 10,500 lbs and NOT 11,500 lbs - is the TorkLift # TLF1005H.
