Replacement Drum Brake Actuator Recommendation that's More Reliable than Brake Rite EOH
Question:
My boat trailer came with one of these that never worked. The relays on the circuit board would click but not power the pump. I opened it up and direct-wired the pump and it would run, so the issue was obviously the circuit board, which I couldnt repair. I bought a new unit and it worked the first trip out, for about 800 miles, and then never again, failed the same exact way. Do you have any idea what could be going wrong with these circuit boards? At over $1000 each, I wont be replacing it with another Brake Rite this time.

The Brake Rite EOH actuators aren't the most reliable option out there so while I am surprised yours went so quickly I am not totally surprised. For a much more reliable option the Hydrastar Drum Actuator part # HBA-12 would be a much better option.
