The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 14001 is designed to fit your 1978 Ford Bronco Custom XLT as long as you have a standard or step bumper. It will not fit if you have a roll pan style bumper.
The Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness # C58044 will allow you to splice into your factory tail light wiring so you will have a 4-way flat. This is the common connector used on small trailers and will also allow for Auxiliary Lights # C53201.
