Recommended SumoSprings And TPMS Sensors For A 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

Considering installing sumo springs on our fifth wheel. Trailer has 5100 lb tandem axles with the axles underneath the springs. Spring plate is 3.5 inches wide and the distance between spring plate and frame is 6 3/8 inches. What do you recommend? Also, we are thinking about a TPMS system Tire minder I10 with 4 sensors. Would we need steel valve stems or will rubber be ok? Can the booster be mounted in the front storage compartment on the fifth wheel? Appreciate any help you can give me.

For a 5,100lb axle and overslung suspension you would need the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket # SS26MV. This kit works with spring plates up to 4-1/4" wide and requires 5-5/16" - 6-1/2" of clearance between the top of spring plate and bottom of trailer frame so you shouldn't have a problem installing these. Since you have a tandem axle trailer you'll need two kits.

The TireMinder i10 TPMS for RVs and Trailers w/ Signal Booster # TM89FR you were looking at requires valve stems rated for higher than 65 psi. If your valve stems aren't rated for higher than 65 psi then you can swap over to a rubber/metal valve stem like part # AM20907 for a higher psi rating. The booster needs to be towards the middle of the distance from the sensors to the monitor so the front storage area would be a great place for the booster to be mounted.
