Changing From 6 on 5-1/2" Hub/Drums to 5 on 5" On Timbren Axle With 10" Brakes
Question:
I have a Horizon Overlander trailer with 10 Dexter Drums on a Timbren Axle. It is a 2016 with almost no use and looks new. I need to convert from a 6 lug drum to a 5 lug 5x5 lug so I can the same tires as my Jeep Gladiator. Can I just replace the Drum with a 5 Lugs or do I have to replace the Drum and Hub?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, you can switch from your 6 on 5-1/2" Hub/Drum # 84656UC3-EZ to the 5 on 5" Hub # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K hub to be able to switch to wheels with the same bolt pattern as your Jeep Gladiator. You will need to adjust the trailer brakes to the new hubs and bed in the brakes to the new hubs.
