Can the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank Be Used With the Tailgate Down

Question:

Hi..regarding Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 18 Long - 8 Rise, 4 - 600 to 1,400 lbs TW Item # EQ90-02-4600 Im interested in swapping out my current shank on my weight dist hitch...this will be about 4 longer than what I currently have. My intent to load my cycle into the truck bed with gate left down...currently my campers tongue jack is far enough back to avoid the tailgate down...this would further back it out of the way. Pictures on your site show others with vehicles in their trucks with the gate down towing a camper...just trying to think this thru...is there enough room like this or should I move the jack to the side like a swing up model? or maybe get the propane tanks behind the jack moved while towing? Trying to avoid the down tailgate from striking anything while turning...any help or thoughts much appreciated. Thanks

The Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4600 you're looking at will work just fine with your current setup and will allow the tailgate to be dropped and not interfere with anything while you're towing.

This shank will work with 2" receivers, offers 8" of rise, 4" of drop, and has an overall length of 18".
