Question:
Looking to see if I can get a hitch for my 2005 bmw 530i for a bike rack. What do you recommend?

For your 2005 BMW 530i we have one trailer hitch, # C11498. This is a Class I trailer hitch so only Class I accessories will fit. And when carrying bikes you are limited to 2 bikes maximum because the hitch is not rated for any more than 2. Also Curt requires the use of stabilization strap # 18050 for non-trailer loads (such as a bike rack) for their warranty.
If you need a bike rack I recommend the Swagman Trailhead, # S63360. This rack can fold down, it has anti-sway cradles, and the rise in the shank provides more ground clearance. I have linked a video review of the bike rack for you.
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical mens bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wifes bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my sons bike at all. I have included a link to a video showing how the adapter works.
