Removing Locks On A RockyMounts Bike Rack Without The Keys
Question:
Hi, I have been using this bike rack for a while and have been very happy with it. Unfortunately, I have lost keys for the cable lock and now unable to use the cable. It is locked onto the rack, and I cannot remove it. Five stars for the security, but now it works against me and I am unable to use the perfectly good rack! It was a miracle there were no bikes on it when it happened. Please advise how to remove the lock without keys. Thank you.

That is a tricky one. It might be possible to get you a replacement key for your RockyMounts BackStage # RKY10002. We would need to know the key number. This can be found usually on the key itself, or on the face of the lock core. RockyMounts key numbers usually start with the letter E, followed by 3 digits.
Other than that, there is no way to get it unlocked without keys. This is by design. Otherwise what good is the lock you know? In some cases we have removed lock cores by drilling them out. This can be tricky, and you would need to be very careful not to damage the cable lock itself. If you can get it off of there, we do offer a replacement lock # RKY12006, which comes with the lock and one key.
