Does the Curt Trailer Hitch For a 2023 Toyota Rav4 Require a lot of Part Removal for Installation

Question:

I just bought a 2023 Rav 4 XSE hybrid that has a kick sensor to open the rear hatch. You recommend theCURT 13416 Class 3 Trailer hitch. I have seen your installation video and it looks easy. It does not appear that there is any need to remove the bumper or disable or modify the kick sensor. Is this correct?

Yes, that is correct. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13416 is confirmed to fit your 2023 Toyota Rav4 and has minimal requirements for parts to be removed or disabled.

As you pointed out in the video, the only thing that really needed to be moved was the exhaust and that was more out of making it easier, rather than being required. If your Rav4 has a tie down bracket coming from the passenger side frame rail, that will need to be removed (this is the case with any of the hitches that fit your Rav4).

While the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13416 will not require you to disable the kick sensor, it is worth noting that the hitch will likely interfere with the kick sensor. This is going to be the case with any hitch because the receiver is located so closely to the sensor.
