Is the Progressive Dynamics 4500 Series Inteli-Power Converter Section Correct for Lithium Batteries

Question:

I have a 2004 Komfort 26 ft 5th wheel. I just bought a lithium battery that Im told isnt working to capacity because the current controller wont allow full charging of the lith battery and/or that it wont allow for more than about a 50 discharge of its capacity since it operates as if the battery is lead/acid. My Qs: Should this part remedy the described problem? With this part, can I keep and hook up a lead/acid battery in place of the lith as an emergency back up battery in place of the lithium one if and when it does fully discharge? Thank you very much!

That is good information. You need to have a converter with the appropriate settings for your battery type. Lithium and lead acid batteries have different make ups and need different chargers, you are not going to be able to use both a lithium battery and a lead acid battery. You will need to decide which type you want to use.

The Progressive Dynamics Lithium 90A 4500 Series Inteli-Power Converter Section # PD4590LICSV will work to charge lithium batteries. This works with 90-amp Progressive Dynamics 4500 series Power Control Centers, as long as that is what you have then you will be good to go with this replacement converter section.

If you have a different power center, please let me know and I can recommend the correct converter section for your power center.
